Referrals:
Referrals are received from parents, school or childcare teachers, child health nurses, GP's or Medical Specialists. A specific GP referral is not necessary. The Chronic Disease Management Plan:
The Chronic Disease Management (formerly called the Enhanced Primary Care Plan) is a referral which can be obtained from your GP. This is a Medicare programme which supports children who have been identified as being eligible by their GP as having a chronic condition. Medicare rebates can be claimed for a portion of up to 5 occupational therapy sessions per calendar year. Bulk Billing for Medicare sessions is not available.
Private Health Insurance Rebates:
If you have extras cover with your Private Health Insurance which specifies occupational therapy cover, you will be able to claim a portion of your occupational therapy service fee through your private health fund. Please contact your health fund to confirm this.
